Modern Comtoise pendulum clock in gray
Our copy - the Comtoise pendulum clock Vuillemin Vauban in gray - still has bronze applications, which also form the attachment (the concealment). But it is one of the newest and reconstructed Comtoise pendulum clock. The movement is completely visible on historic Comtoise pendulum clocks, which is only possible via sheet metal doors on the right and left side. These also usually include a curved enamel dial. Factory pillars are inserted in large brass wheels with a drive, a spindle escapement and a weight drive for the striking mechanism and the gears operate the watch. The latest watch technology paired with the traditional repeater mechanism repeats an hour after a few minutes.
Vuillemin watches are manufactured in own manufacture and joined by order. From assembling to regulation to shipping, more than 14 days are required.

Comtoise pendulum clocks with a long history
Comtoise pendulum clocks were manufactured from around 1680, the production in regional factories continued until the end of the 19th century. The main production locations were locations around Morez. Until 1950, the clocks were hardly known outside of France, but then antique lovers began to be interested in them all over the world. A very loud hour strike is typical of Comtoise pendulum clocks. Actually, the clocks were made for simple households, in which there was only one clock, which should accordingly - loudly heard everywhere in the house. The pendulum was also cast as a lead bulb for better portability and hung on a wire chain with numerous links. In addition, there were weights of five kilograms, which were necessary due to the design, but were not transportable and which was therefore always manufactured individually by a local blacksmith. Therefore, older, completely original Comtoise pendulum clocks look black with a cube-shaped case.
