AMS 695 – Mechanical Design Regulator with Visible Skeleton Movement
The AMS 695 combines traditional mechanical clockmaking with distinctly contemporary design. Aluminium, natural slate, curved mineral glass and polished metal components create an exceptional combination of materials.
Its most distinctive feature is immediately visible: instead of hiding the mechanics behind a conventional dial, the open numeral ring provides a fascinating view of the skeletonised mechanical movement.
Mechanical 8-day cable-driven movement
The AMS 695 is powered by a traditional 8-day mechanical cable-driven movement. A weight provides the energy required to operate the clock, slowly descending as the movement runs.
The mechanical gear train transfers this energy to the escapement, while the long rod pendulum regulates the movement and provides its steady rhythm.
No batteries or electrical connection are required.
Visible skeleton movement
The visible skeletonised movement is one of the most fascinating features of the AMS 695. The open dial with Arabic numerals provides a direct view of parts of the mechanical movement.
The bright metallic components create a striking contrast against the dark natural slate background and make the mechanical technology an integral part of the design.
Natural slate, aluminium and curved glass
A long natural slate panel forms the visual background of the regulator. As slate is a natural material, subtle variations in structure and appearance give each clock its individual character.
The curved mineral glass protects the mechanical components while maintaining an almost unobstructed view of the movement, weight and pendulum.
Bell strike on the full hour
The AMS 695 also retains an acoustic element of traditional clockmaking: a bell strike sounds on every full hour. The bell is visibly positioned above the dial and forms part of the clock's distinctive appearance.
Rod pendulum and visible weight drive
Below the movement, the polished weight and long rod pendulum emphasise the slim vertical architecture of the clock.
At approximately 90 cm high and only 21 cm wide, the AMS 695 creates an impressive presence while retaining a light, elegant appearance.
